As 2019 draws to a close, we look back on what made this year a special one.
We have been on a pretty amazing journey this year. After 2 years of hard work, countless development hours, coffees and slack messages, we launched our brand-new platform in April, Meridian BCMS. Many of our existing customers have made the leap into the future with us and migrated while every new customer has gone straight into the Meridian world since April 1st.
It's been a great year for new customers, we have been particularly lucky with the people who have engaged with us. Sure, it's great to work with global brands, great for business and for our reputation, but what's proved more meaningful to us is who we are working with in these organisations. Likeminded individuals with passion and enthusiasm for Business Resilience. They are knowledgeable, emotionally intelligent people who work with us to empower their resilience approach.
This year has seen us being braver and bolder with the thinking behind Companies who we go into partnership with. We have been asked to take part in a few tender processes which we have, very respectfully, decided to disengage from. This doesn't happen often, but when there are companies who don't share our core values, we know from the get-go we're not the best match for them. So, our customers can rest assured, that when we partner with them, we are committed to them and committed to their vision for resilience.
In house it's been a great year for employee progression. We encouraged our people to push themselves in their C2 careers and made two key promotions, which have been influential in our success this year. Our Service Delivery Team is now headed up by Aimee Quinn and Arlene Smith. Both are passionate, energetic and dedicated to customer service the C2 way. It's been great to watch them develop into such great leaders.
We sent Aimee, our employee of the year, to Las Vegas with her partner for an all-expenses paid holiday as a reward for her hard work and dedication to us. Aimee won not only employee of the year voted for by management, but Employee's employee of the Year voted for by her colleagues.
We've focused massively over the past year on improving our company as a place of work. We aimed to ensure that it was an environment all employees were genuinely excited to come to each morning and I think our people will agree with us that we have made great strides. This has not only boosted employee happiness but customer feedback on our service has been extraordinary. This renewed focus has also allowed us to attract the best talent on offer and ensure we do not hire anyone unless they have passion and personality that is critical to maintaining the brand we have worked so hard to build.
We added a Head of Development this year to take our product lines even further into the future. We surrounded him with a team of fantastic developers so that we can deliver more and more value to our customers quicker than ever before.
As we look back over the year, we have a lot to be grateful for. Our customers, our people and our product.
Our customers are a great bunch full of ideas and intrigue. What's brilliant is, we really get on with them! We have genuinely great relationships, fun and often social outings with them when they come to C2HQ.
Our people are happy, and that's aligned with happy customers. Work wellbeing is so important and by partnering with the right brands we know our people are looking after reasonable, personable customers every day making them relaxed and happy in their jobs.
Our product is one to be proud of, launching new software is never easy or without its challenges. We've had late working nights, full on days and a few weekends mixed in there too! It's been worth it.
As we look ahead to next year, there is a feeling of excitement. Meridian BCMS is making noise in the market, we have growth plans across every department and the development roadmap powerful. Thank you to all who have supported us this year. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2020!
